Do I need to be in Europe to use EuroBureau?
Absolutely not. EuroBureau is so named because it's a fork of EuroOffice, the European initiative to offer a safe and distributed alternative to US monoliths. The servers are hosted in Europe, the files are stored in Europe (several times over, to ensure the safety of your work), but writers who value privacy and security in a fully-featured office suite are all over the world.
Is EuroBureau only for self-published authors?
Not at all. EuroBureau has a number of features added to the core platform that are of particular interest to authors in general and self-published authors in particular, such as collaboration, multiple file redundancy and email backups, curated fonts, advanced page layout (including mirrored gutters and support for standard and custom POD book sizes), and an optimised, platform-ready epub exporter, but meeting the standards of authors has allowed us to raise our game for everyone.
What is EuroOffice?
EuroOffice is an open-source online collaborative document management project endorsed and regulated by the European Union. EuroBureau is highly indebted to this project for its core functionality.
Is EuroBureau free?
During the final stages of testing EuroBureau will only be free, after which we'll be experimenting with a community-financing model (meaning, we'll be asking for handouts to keep the lights on).
Does EuroBureau have a policy on generative AI?
Yes, and it’s very simple – EuroBureau does not allow, accomodate, accept, or condone generative AI, and commits to never allowing your data to be used by anyone but you.
